“Halle”

Oil on wood
18x12
To create something special for her husband and family, Kym came to me for a commissioned work. Their sweet Halle had just passed tragically. Kym and I worked together to come up with the perfect memorial painting to remember and pay tribut to the “lil nubbins”.
Halle was a feisty Irish Jack Russell terrier. She had more personality and emotion in her 13 lbs of fur than many people do. She was conservative with her love, but to those whom she cared for, it was without doubt or hesitation. Halle was Ryan and Kym’s adventure buddy through and through, always at peace camping and when next to the lake. Their daughter shared their love for Halle.
Working with Kym, hearing her stories, watching videos and looking through pictures I felt connected to Halle. The closer I came to finishing of the painting I didn’t want her to go, but was so happy to send her off to her family and give Ryan a pleasant surprise. These memorial pieces are my favorite because not only am I creating something beautiful, I’m helping people through the mourning process, helping to heal a wound and paying tribute to a loved one.
I did not know her, but I know she was loved. Rest in Peace sweet Halle.
