“blue yodel”

oil on bone

Working on such a small scale is new to me and so challenging! Worth it in the end. Such a rugged looking and unique canvas. As a kid I remember seeing scapula paintings of winter landscapes or etchings of a wild bronc…mostly on the walls of farm houses and bars all along the hi-line. When I was younger I didn’t think much of em, but as I get older I understand that scapula paintings are their own special thing, precious few and a reminder of “the Montana of my youth.
